HGUC JESTA

Finally finished my HGUC Jesta. Took a while but finally had a little time after i finished drawing the last issue of GIJOE season 2.

I mixed a dark navy blue using Vallejo Model Air Blue with a little black and a pinch of Orange. The light gray blue was a mix of Vallejo USA Gray+ blue and a little white. The rifle is Vallejo Gun Metal for the body and Vallejo Steel for the Magazine. Metal joints and frame pieces are Vallejo Steel. Decals are from Samuel Decal. I had some silvering on a few but overall i'm happy with the result and look of the decals.

some seams are still visible. I'm not entering this is a show so didn't putty or hide seams too much.

I couldn't find my charger to juice up the batteries for the DSLR so used my iphone for the pictures. Hopefully I'll find the charger and take better pics.

I'm looking forward to the Master Grade version of this suit. I like it a lot.

00 Raiser- Modest Progress

I'm almost done with the main body of 00. Just need the head and arms.

Spraying white acrylic is my least favorite thing about this kit. It's either too thin or thick and sprays splattery all over the kit. I don't have that trouble with any other color. White probably has more solids in it and needs more thinning i guess.

This kit is my first real attempt at pre-shading and it looks ok. I did have trouble with a few of the tiny dry transfer decals and ruined a few of them. I definitely prefer the waterslides.

After the 00 I need to paint the 0 Raiser. I think in the end this kit will look ok.

small update - 00 raiser

Legs are coming along. Did some shading and covered with Vallejo white. Spraying white is tricky.

Used a combination of kit decals and Samuel Decals 00 set. Everything is covered with Vallejo Matt Varnish. I might have to do some weathering since the finish is not great. Lots of lint in the finish.

Slow progress - MG 00 Raiser

It's been a slow year for me and Gundam kits. I've been drawing GI JOE for IDW for the past year with the last six months being the most intense. Not a lot of time for painting. I have been able to snap the MG 00 raiser kit and only now have I had time to start painting it.

here's a very brief update pic showing the legs...

Tamiya Metallic Gray with Vallejo Steel and Chrome accents.

I'm hoping to have this finished sometime soon. I'll just tackle it section by section. Next after this would be the MG Full Armor Unicorn or the 1/100 HG Dynames which I had hoped to use for a contest on the Mecha forum but don't think i'll have it done in time.

Torso combination of Tamiya Metallic Gray and Vallejo Air Color Steel. The steel goes on sooo smooth.

Full Armor Unicorn

My pre-order for Full Armor unicorn came in from Tatsu Hobby. It is an immense amount of plastic. Hy-gogg was very happy to see the kit and went for a swim. The Hy-gogg was put together by Nik. She did a great job of trimming and sanding all the nubs. It was only her second Gundam snap build her first being the Gafran. Both kits done within 24hours.
